Therefore Architecture is a New York-based architecture and design firm founded by Austin Edwards. Originally from Alabama, he studied Aerospace Engineering at Auburn University while working at NASA’s Marshall Spaceflight Center. After leaving Auburn, he received a Master’s of Architecture from the University of Virginia, where he received a post-graduate fellowship to pursue his own research and accepted an Adjunct Faculty position to teach an undergraduate studio.
Austin was part of the award-winning team at Studio Gang Architects, where he learned under McArthur Genius Grant recipient Jeanne Gang. While there, he worked on community, education, and multifamily residential projects in North America and Europe. He then transitioned to working in the luxury residential and hospitality space with AD Top 100 firm, Olson Kundig.
Austin is licensed in the state of New York, is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and is National Council of Architectural Registration Board (NCARB) certified for licensing in other states.
